Privacy Policy

Your workout data stays on your iPhone.

HeartZone Coach does not require an account and does not include advertising, analytics SDKs, subscriptions, cloud sync, or third-party tracking.

Effective August 5, 2026

Information used by the app

With your permission, HeartZone Coach uses:

  • Health data from Apple Health, including heart rate during a workout.
  • Location data during an active Outdoor Run or Walk to calculate distance, pace, speed, GPS quality, moving time, and a saved route map.
  • iPhone motion information during a workout to count steps and, when available, estimate cadence and indoor distance.
  • Audio output to play spoken workout coaching.

HeartZone Coach writes completed Run and Walk workouts, including workout distance and summary information, to Apple Health when you grant write permission.

Local storage

Workout history, heart-rate samples used by workout summaries, step totals and cadence, saved route coordinates, preferences, and diagnostic events are stored locally in the app's container on your iPhone. HeartZone Coach does not upload or synchronize this information to a developer-operated server.

Saved route coordinates are used only to display completed-workout maps inside the app. They are not included in diagnostics exports.

Diagnostics

HeartZone Coach keeps local diagnostics to help identify workout, pedometer, GPS, HealthKit, background-execution, and audio problems. A diagnostics export can include workout dates, heart-rate samples and summary metrics, step totals and cadence, app-specific diagnostic identifiers, Health and Location permission states, and technical event details.

Excluded from diagnostics exports: raw motion samples, raw route coordinates, spoken cue text, email addresses, authentication tokens, audio-device names, and profile fields.

Diagnostics leave your iPhone only when you deliberately use the export action and then choose where to send or save the resulting file. Review the file's scope before sharing it. If you send an exported diagnostics file to support, it will be used only to investigate the issue you reported and will not be used for advertising or marketing.

Data sharing and collection

The developer does not collect data from the app through an account, analytics service, advertising service, or tracking service. HeartZone Coach does not sell personal information or health data and does not share health or location data for advertising, marketing, or data-mining purposes.

Apple may process information through system services such as HealthKit, Core Location, MapKit, and the App Store according to Apple's own terms and privacy policy.

Your choices and data deletion

You control Health, Location, Motion, and related permissions in iOS Settings. You can continue using limited parts of the app after denying a permission, although features that depend on that permission may be unavailable.

HeartZone Coach provides controls in Settings to delete local workout history and diagnostics. Deleting the app also deletes data stored in its local app container. Workouts already written to Apple Health must be managed separately in the Health app.

Children's privacy

HeartZone Coach is a general-audience fitness app. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children or provide social, messaging, advertising, or user-generated-content features.

Health disclaimer

HeartZone Coach is a fitness coaching tool, not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or medical condition. Heart-rate zones and spoken cues are informational and are not medical advice.

Changes to this policy

If the app's data practices change, this policy and the App Store privacy disclosures will be updated before the changed practices are released.
